Melinda and I first met several years ago in college. We both share a deep love of photography, and working toward our BFA’s we managed to have numerous classes together. After graduation, we kept in contact via social media, following each other’s adventures. I was thrilled when she announced her engagement to her long time boyfriend Matthew! These two share a perfect bond! Although they live in Iowa (currently moving to New Orleans!), they decided to host their wedding at the Mill Top Banquet Center in Noblesville, Indiana. This venue is a gorgeous maze of staircases and exposed brick. There were moments I felt like I was in a M.C. Escher piece, which made is a perfect wedding venue for a fellow artist! Melinda and Matthew both wanted to include all of their closest friends, so they opted for a co-ed wedding party. There was no “bridesmaids” or “groomsmen”, just a mixture of those dearest to them. The decor was a whimsical and sophisticated cats theme, paying homage to their fur children. At the beginning of the day they ran up onto the rooftop to take a breath before the festivities. You could see the nerves, excitement, and pure love between them! At the end of the day, they went up once again, this time to watch the sunset as husband and wife. The moon was so big and bright, and a hot air balloon floated in the distance. Everything was just perfect! Thank you Melinda and Matt, for including me in your love story!
